On top of my wish list was an SLR. Well, on the first of the month, I just got my Nikon D5000 from Kimstore. My cam is exactly 2 weeks old and pictures are piling up. I needed a place to showcase my noob shots, so here goes this new look for my blog. Made it more of a photo blog to highlight the pictures, less texty, sticked with two columns and a sweet spot for a small photo gallery. But wait, I didn't pull this off from ground up, haha! Let me share the creative process.
One. The theme of course is just something that I found on the web - not yet able to make my own. The Arthropod theme if from freeCSStemplates.org.
Two. PriceSCAN.com popped up when I tried to look for a 'bright blue' in Google Images. That's why we have this biggie here on the side. Its the same gadget I clip to the pocket of my shirt at work, that's why its literally close to my heart. This picture was the basis of the color choices on my site.
Three. ColorHunter.com did the job of analyzing the iPod Shuffle photo to come up with good and complementary color choices. The link of the photo just needs to be pasted on the dialog box and bwalaaah! You'll have your colors in hexadecimal code. EasyCalculation.com did come in handy with playing with colors.
With the hex codes and links of the pictures for the gallery, all that's left to do is to update the template - Blogger > Design > Edit HTML > Edit Template. Click Save Template and that's it! Baw!
